Information Day of NATO's Science for Peace and Security Program opened in Almaty
The information day is a part of the EAPC Security Forum held on June 24-26 in Astana. The event is devoted to the NATO's 60th anniversary and 15th anniversary of the program "Science for Peace and Security". Among the guests are NATO SfP Program Director Dr. Chris De Wispelaere, representatives of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, heads of the NATO scientific projects from the Central Asian states. The reports of the heads of the international projects from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan made reports within the sitting.
According to Mr. Jean-François Bureau, the EAPC Forum will focus attention of its participants on the issue of deepening of cooperation in the field of global security. "Science plays a big role in building of future world. Cooperation in the information technology sphere on the project "Virtual Silk Road" can be compared to the significance of the Silk Road as a mechanism for connection of the civilizations", he stressed.
