Informal meeting of CIS leaders starts in Moscow

MOSCOW. KAZINFORM - An informal meeting of the CIS leaders participating in the events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War has started in Moscow.

At the meeting, the participants are expected to sum up results of the joint work on implementation of the Plan of preparations and celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, approved by the CIS presidents on February 14, 2014. Besides, dates of the upcoming CIS Summit in Astana and the Year of Veterans will be discussed. Earlier it was reported that President of Kazakhstan and current chairman of the Council of the CIS Heads of State Nursultan Nazarbayev had arrived in Moscow for an official visit. The Kazakh leader will attend the military parade dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory. Recall that this is his first visit in the capacity of the President of Kazakhstan to Russia after inauguration. During the two-day visit President Nazarbayev is also expected to participate in the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and meet with his Russian counterpart President Vladimir Putin.
