According to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, the US armed forces attacked the commercial vessel Settebello in the Gulf of Oman.

On June 10, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that it had carried out an attack on a vessel sailing under the flag of Palau in the Gulf of Oman, accusing the crew of “repeatedly failing to comply with directions from American forces.”

In response, New Delhi condemned the strike and issued an official statement confirming that the crew members are Indian citizens. Authorities said 21 people were rescued following the incident, and three remain missing.

The US Chargé d’Affaires, Jason Meeks, was summoned to India’s Ministry of External Affairs.

Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that the United States launched a series of attacks on Iran after a US Apache helicopter was downed in the Strait of Hormuz, prompting Tehran to issue warnings of retaliation.
