In Petropavlovsk the acting chief of financial police dept shot near his house

ASTANA. December 25. KAZINFORM - In Petropavlovsk December 24, 2013 around 08:00 p.m. in the doorway of his house with a few shots from a firearm, one of which was in the head, was killed the Acting Head of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption (DCECC) of the North Kazakhstan region, the Major of Financial Police Zhandos Akhmetov, the press service of Kazakhstan's financial police reports.
Zh.Ahmetov had been working in financial police bodies from March 2012. In March 2013 he was appointed First Deputy Chief of DCECC of North Kazakhstan region. He was in charge of the investigation and pre-trial proceedings. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
"The management and staff of the financial police mourn and expresse condolences to the family and friends of our deceased colleague. We hope that the person who committed such a heinous crime in the near future will be found out and punished", said the press service.
