In Astana commissioned first house under pilot project on slum dwelling demolition

The pilot program for demolition of dilapidated housing offers the tenants convenient mechanism: people get the same number of square meters which they had in the demolished housing regardless of the number of people living in the apartment.

"The pilot project is unique in that the program will cost nil for the budget. According to the personal instructions of the Head of State the project is being implemented within the framework of "Affordable Housing" program. Last year the Akimat has been allocated KZT 20 billion and the next year it will get another 20 billion.

"In the first phase we plan to demolish 228 residential units before 2018. The project's realization started in February the current year. Until the end of the year we will build 4 houses", he added.
