Imports via Jordan's Aqaba Port surge by 41.5% in early 2025

The number of containers loaded with imported goods entering Jordan through the Aqaba Container Terminal rose by 41.5 percent in the first two months of 2025 compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Jordanian Logistics Association, Petra reports.

Statistical figures obtained by the Jordan News Agency (Petra) show that container imports through the terminal reached 71,827 during January and February, up from 50,729 in the same period of 2024.

Exports also saw growth, with the number of containers shipped out of Jordan increasing by 12.5 percent, reaching 16,428 containers, compared to 14,602 during the same period last year.

The Jordanian Logistics Association, established in 2007, represents professionals in the shipping sector, fosters a competitive environment, and works to protect freight brokers while enhancing logistics services.

The association is a member of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), a non-governmental organization founded in 1926 in Vienna.
