Import customs duties in Customs Union discussed in Moscow

The Belarusian delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Guryanov.
The subcommittee for customs-tariff and non-tariff regulation and safeguards discussed the rates of import customs duties of the common customs tariff of the Customs Union, taking into account Russia's WTO commitments. The meeting participants also addressed the issue of tariff quotas and their allocation for import of agricultural goods into the Customs Union in 2013, BelTA reports.
The subcommittee for trade policy considered the ways to eliminate barriers in mutual trade of the member states of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space (CU and SES). The participants of the meeting discussed the progress in the work on the draft guidelines for trade policy in the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space, and also in the negotiation of free trade agreements between the member states of the Customs Union and a number of countries. The sides discussed proposals for the first meeting of the leaders of the dialogue for trade issues between the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and Ukraine, and other organizational and current issues in the EEC activities.
