III meeting of JICA Alumni Association convened in Astana

ASTANA. March 15. KAZINFORM The III meeting of JICA Alumni Association in Kazakhstan was held on March 14 in Astana, its press service reports.
A moment of silence was observed in the beginning of the session in memory of victims of the tragic events in Fukushima that claimed thousands of human lives.
Opening the meeting Japanese Ambassador Harada Yudzo noted, since the establishment of JICA in Kazakhstan back to 1993, about 1,200 Kazakhstanis have received education in Japan.
The JICA Alumni Association in Kazakhstan was founded in 2010. It unites 230 people so far. It affords an opportunity to get acquainted with Japan's culture, issues information bulletins, holds annul general meeting, and participates in research within technical cooperation programs.
The JICA alumni approved the action plan for 2012.
