III Astana Economic Forum to focus on economic development in post-crisis period

ASTANA. June 5. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandagulova/ On July 1-2, 2010 the capital city of Kazakhstan Astana will host the III Economic Forum which agenda will focus on sustainable economic growth in post-crisis period.

The annual forum will bring together 2, 000 representatives of political and business circles from more than 50 countries of the world.

Heads of the largest international financial organizations, prominent scientists-economists are expected to arrive to the forum. Among them are Nobel Prize laureates Finn Kydland, Robert Aumann, Secretary General of the OSCE Marc Perrin de Brichambaut, Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe Jan Kubis, ex-Prime Minister of Canada Jean Chrétien, President of the European Investment Bank Phillip Maystadt, Vice President of the Asian Development Bank Zhao Xiaoyu and the representatives of financial circles and heads of corporations.

A Business Forum of industrialists and businessmen will be held within the III Astana Economic Forum. 300 foreign delegates are expected to participate in it.

On the first day of the Forum a conference of state-private partnership centers will take place. Representatives of state-private partnership centers, central and local executive bodies, experts and representatives of non-governmental organizations will take part in the discussions. Besides, an international scientific conference devoted to the mechanisms of regulation of Islamic financing amid post crisis development will be held.

An Innovation Congress with the participation of key figures and companies playing an important rile in innovative technologies development will take place within the III Astana Economic Forum too.
