Idea on creation of union of Central Asian states debated in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE. August 12. KAZINFORM. Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the Strategic Research Center under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan held a roundtable on "Union of Central Asian states: problems of political unification: on August 10; Kazinform refers to the Embassy's press service.
Prominent public figures and politicians, experts, scientists and representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Tajikistan took part in the forum. The organizers commented upon the ides of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev on creation of the Union of Central Asian States. They noted the necessity of its realization and regional integration in whole. Kazakh Ambassador Abutalip Akhmetov emphasized that Kazakhstan's efforts are aimed at strengthening regional stability and ensuring mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
The participants discussed the opportunities of establishment of the Union of Central Asian States, problems and mechanisms of realization of this initiative.
