ICAO to manage Kazakhstan’s civil aviation master plan
Kazakhstan’s Transport Ministry signed the Civil Aviation Masterplan (CAMP) up to 2050 with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to foster strategic development and further planning in the country’s civil aviation sector, Kazinform News Agency cites the Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan.

The signing took place as part of the Global Implementation Support Symposium GISS-2025, which is underway in Abu Dhabi, the UAE, on February 10-12.
The masterplan aims for development of airports, air navigation, air companies, flight and aviation safety, air transport accessibility and liberalization and so on, through a comprehensive strategy and further planning in Kazakhstan’s civil aviation sector, said the country’s Civil Aviation Committee.
To note, Kazakhstan is the first Central Asian and CIS country to establish strategic cooperation with ICAO as well as to achieve a vision on sustainable development, modernization and efficient exploitation of Kazakhstan’s aviation sector in line with its national objectives for boosting transit and transport potential and becoming the region’s major aviation hub.
The signatories to the document were Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Transport Talgat Lastayev and ICAO Secretary-General Juan Carlos Salazar.
As earlier reported, direct flights are set to be launched from Almaty to New York and Tokyo starting this year.
