IBRD to grant $36m loan to Kazakhstan to improve system of justice

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The plenary session of the Majilis, lower chamber of the Kazakh Parliament, has approved today the bill "On ratification of the Loan Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development" aimed at improving the system of justice in the country.

In line with the loan agreement, the IBRD provides loan to Kazakhstan for $36 million - 15 years, including five-year grace period. Co-financing of the Government of Kazakhstan won't exceed $24 million.
The project is aimed at improving the system of justice in Kazakhstan by strengthening key elements of the legal and institutional basis, raising quality of services and effectiveness of the Ministry of Justice and professionalism of judges.
