David Mauricio Arcila is a contestant from Colombia. He likes football, basketball and tennis, often takes part in school competitions.

"I live in the city of Cali, study at San Luis Gonzaga School. This is the first time I take part in the International Mathematical Olympiad. I've been awarded bronze medals at the Latin America and Argentinean Mathematical Olympiads. I passed a test before this olympiad. I am planning to be a mathematician.

I knew nothing about Kazakhstan before. The first time I heard about your country was when it was announced that Kazakhstan would host the 51st International Mathematical Olympiad. Since then I've learned a lot about Kazakhstan, our guides tell us about the Kazakh history and culture. We were shown a yurt. There are many beautiful places: mountains, forests and lakes. I like this place and the program of our stay at Baldauren including interesting tours and concerts", says David.
