Hyundai opened bus and truck assembly plant in Kazakhstan
The enterprise is opened within the implementation of the Program on Forced Industrial-Innovative Development.
This is the first enterprise launched within the Program in 2011. We are glad that Hyundai Company opened such plant in Kazakhstan and Central Asia for the first time", First Deputy Prime Minister Umirzak Shukeyev has said at the plant opening ceremony in Talgar district of Almaty region today.
The project was realized within the agreements achieved during the official visit of the Kazakh President to South Korea in April 2010.
Vice President of Hyundai Motor Company Harry Choi noted that the launch of the plant opened a new stage in the bilateral cooperation. H.Choi handed over the certificate prescribing right to assembly cars under the Hyundai brand to President of Astana Group Nurlan Smagulov.
According to Governor of Almaty region Serik Umbetov, the project is very important for the region, in particular, for Talgar district. "New jobs and tax payment will improve the social situation in the region", the Governor said.
