Hu Jintao welcomes President Nazarbayev in Beijing

BEIJING. June 6. KAZINFORM The Kazakh-Chinese negotiations in expanded format started on Wednesday (June 6) in Beijing after President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev was officially welcomed by his Chinese counterpart - President of People's Republic of China Hu Jintao.

In his opening speech President Jintao wholeheartedly welcomed Nursultan Nazarbayev in connection with his visit to China and participation in the SCO Summit.

"Dear Mr. President, you are a great and old friend of our country and people. You have done a tremendous work to develop our relations and contribute to it," Hu Jintao noted.

President of People's Republic of China also pointed out that the current visit of Nursultan Nazarbayev coincided with the 20^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the countries.

"I am confident your visit will give a new impetus to further strengthening of the Kazakh-Chinese relations and strategic partnership," the Chinese leader added.

Following the negotiations the sides are expected to sign a number of bilateral documents.
