Holding of elections should strictly comply with the requirements of the Constitution - Kazakh President

During the meeting, the President noted that the Constitutional Council had sent a request associated with the possibility of holding presidential elections. Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed that he had held consultations with the chairmen of both chambers of the Parliament, and the Prime Minister. The President said that the elections must strictly comply with the requirements of the Constitution. Igor Rogov noted that calling of early presidential elections, in accordance with Article p.3-1. 41 of the Constitution, falls under the competence of the President of Kazakhstan. This constitutional authority is not burdened by any conditions and limitations, and is individually implemented by the Head of State. In this regard, chairman of the Constitutional Council stressed the absence of any constitutional legal obstacles for holding early presidential elections.
