History of Science Conference joined reps from 40 countries
The conference was attended by more than 140 foreign delegates from about 40 countries. President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov made a welcoming speech opening the event. "According to scientists, the Central Asian region has created the preconditions for two outbursts of scientific and cultural progress in the IX-XII and XIV-XV centuries, which are rightly recognized by the world scientific community as the era of the Eastern Renaissance. Specificity of the Eastern Renaissance was to develop natural and exact sciences - mathematics, astronomy, physics, chemistry, surveying, pharmacology, medicine, history, philosophy and literature", said the President of Uzbekistan. "Nowadays Uzbekistan's archives contain more than 100 thousand manuscripts, most of which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List", said Islam Karimov. The forum was also attended by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan Boribay Zheksembin.
