ASTANA. June 1. KAZINFORM /Rassul Bakhamov/ "Historical monuments are called to strengthen our historical memory, bring up patriotism and love of Motherland in Kazakhstanis, especially in youth", Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan said it today.
"Year by year the young capital city of Kazakhstan - Astana - is decorated with new architectural ensembles, buildings and monuments. Monuments devoted to historical figures hold a special place in monumental art. There is already a beautiful monument to Kenessary, a monument to great three biys (judges) and some others in Astana", the President said.
As earlier reported, today N. Nazarbayev has taken part in opening of the monument to Kerey and Zhanibek, founders of the Kazakh Khanate, which was established in park in front of the First Kazakhstan President's museum.
