Hijacked Turkish-flagged ship back under crew control

ANKARA. April 10. KAZINFORM. A Turkish-flagged ship hijacked off Kenyan coast three days ago was back under the control of the crew, a statement issued by Turkey's Maritime Undersecretariat on Saturday; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
None of the crew members on board the hijacked Yasin-C ship were injured, said the statement.
Pirates hijacked the Yasin-C some 270 sea miles off the Mombasa Port of Kenya on Wednesday. The ship with 25 Turkish crew members aboard was carrying cargo from Ukraine to Kenya.
"The pirates pounded the bridge and deck with automatic guns, and set some parts of the ship on fire, whereas the crew hid themselves," the statement added.
The statement also that the pirates could not find the crew, and abandoned the ship 17 to 18 hours later, and then, the crew set sail to Mombasa port slowly and reached the port on early Saturday morning; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
