High time for Samruk-Kazyna to perform its initial mission - Nazarbayev

"It is high time for Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund to return to its initial role," President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev voiced his opinion at the forum on the fund's transformation in Astana on Monday. "After the fund was established, Kazakhstan was hit hard by the economic crisis. The fund shouldered the responsibility to find solutions in those trying times. For instance, it helped the domestic second-tier banks to get to their feet," the President said. The Head of State noted that since the banks are doing well now, it is high time for the fund to get back to its initial mission.
