Helicopter crashes in Russia’s Far East

MOSCOW. KAZINFORM - A helicopter Mil Mi-8 has crashed in the Russian Far Eastern Khabarovsk Territory, according to preliminary reports, with 17 airborne forest security officers on board.
"Their fate is unclear yet," a source in regional law enforcement agencies told ITAR-TASS. The helicopter crashed 50km away from the settlement of Chekunda in Verkhnaya Bureya district of the territory. "According to preliminary reports, the helicopter belongs to airborne forest security service. The helicopter was carrying 14 fire-fighting paratroopers and three crewmen," the source said.
