Healthcare Ministry takes measures to prevent pneumonic plague spread

ASTANA. August 6. KAZINFORM Pneumonic plague cases have not yet been registered in Kazakhstan, according to Kazakh Ministry of Healthcare.
The pneumonic plague is an infectious disease that affects animals and humans. It is caused by the bacterium Yersinia pestis.
As a result of a pneumonic plague outbreak in China the Resolution Nr. 12 of the Chief State Medical Officer of the Republic of Kazakhstan was adopted as of August, 3 2009 "On implementation of preventive and anti-epidemic measures for prevention of the pneumonic plague spread in Kazakhstan".
The Kazakh Ministry of Healthcare takes a number of measures and actions In order to prevent spread of the infection among the population of the country.
