Health Ministry to create Kazakh national system of laboratory quality external evaluation

"To improve the quality of laboratory and diagnostic studies it is planned to create the national system of laboratory quality external evaluation, which will allow the whole country to improve the availability and quality of diagnostic services," said G.Utepbergenova at the press conference in Astana on the occasion of the Republican Scientific and Educational Forum titled "Modern management of medical laboratories: the relevance and prospects."

"We are planning to set up a national referral laboratory for identification of dangerous infections and research for our laboratories to be consistent with international standards," she added.

The Kazakh Ministry of Health in the framework of the World Bank project implementation will hold a series of activities that will be aimed at modernization of laboratory services in Kazakhstan: to elaborate a concept of improving laboratory services during 2013-2015, to prepare laboratory facilities for accreditation in compliance with international quality standards, and to improve training programs and retraining in this area ", concluded Utepbergenova.
