Head of State to partake in CIS summits in Minsk

MINSK-ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Yesterday Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in Belarus to participate in in the session of the CIS Heads of State Council, the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community and the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, Kazinform has learnt from BelTA.

The round table of the CIS leaders will discuss 17 draft documents aimed at further development of international humanitarian and security cooperation.

The meeting of the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community will draw conclusions of the Eurasian Economic Community activities and sign an agreement on the termination of its work (1 January 2015).
The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will consider the current issues of trade in goods and services, movements of capital and workforce, and other financial and technical aspects related to the launch of the Eurasian Economic Union on 1 January 2015.

Belarus and Kazakhstan have an active bilateral dialogue. Official visit of President of Kazakhstan in Minsk in May 2012, and the President of Belarus in Astana in October 2013 confirmed the strategic nature of the relationship between the two countries. The legal base of bilateral cooperation has more than 80 international treaties and instruments.
In 2013 the volume of foreign trade volume between Belarus and Kazakhstan has exceeded USD 1 billion. Bilateral trade amounted to USD 950.5 million (102.7% compared to 2012). Belarusian exports to Kazakhstan amounted to USD 868.2 million (up 7.6%), imports from Kazakhstan - USD 82.3 million (down 30.8%).

Kazakhstan operates 13 assembly plants of Belarusian equipment including mine machinery, tractors, combine harvesters, engines, balers, elevators, as well as different kinds of trailed agricultural machinery. In 2011 Kazakhstan started to assemble powerful tractors "Belarus-3022DC.1", new model combines, and drive shafts.
