Head of State handed general's shoulder straps and class ranks to Kazakh officers

ASTANA. May 6. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Today President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has handed general's shoulder straps and military ranks to a group of officers of the Armed Forces and law enforcement bodies of Kazakhstan.
"On May 7, 1992 I decreed formation of the Armed Forces of independent Kazakhstan. We celebrate this day as the Defenders of the Fatherland Day. Therefore, traditionally on the eve of this Day we award the distinguished servicemen of the Armed Forces, law enforcement officers who day and night serve the country, safeguard the peace, constitutional rights and freedom of our people," Nursultan Nazarbayev told at the awarding ceremony.
