Head of State chaired collegium of Defense Ministry
The Head of State got acquainted with samples of armaments, military equipment and products of the national military-industrial complex before the session.
"Maintaining the level of combat readiness of the country's Armed Forces remains one of the prior tasks of the state in the security provision sphere. The intensity of combat training and its quality have been increasing systematically for the last few years", Defense Minister Adilbek Dzhaksybekov noted in his report on the Kazakh Army's activity results.
Totally, the combat training intensity was increased by 15% compared to 2009. This figure is one of the highest among the CIS Armies.
54 exercises of different scale were held in 2010. The SCO "Peace Mission-2010" joint anti-terror exercises were held right after the "Cooperation-2009" strategic command-staff exercises. This was the biggest exercise with participation of our parents.
In accordance with the task set by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief special attention was paid to preparation of the mobilization reserve. In this regard 9 training centers were established in the country. 1200 conscripts were trained for motorized riffle troops, signal corps, special troops.
About 3600 conscripts will be trained in the centers this year. Three more regional training centers in Semey, Taraz and Aktau will be established as well.
The participants of the session noted that until recently the Kazakh Army fully depended on import. Since the last year the situation has changed as long as enterprises of the military-industrial complex were transferred to the control of the Kazakh Defense Ministry.
First International Exhibition of Arms and Military- Technical Equipment KADEX-2010 is one the support measures for the national military industry. 156 companies including 86 Kazakhstan's enterprises took part in the exhibition which became a platform for future cooperation between the Kazakh producers and outstanding world brands in the military industry.
Regarding the issue of social provision of military men it was noted that the average military pay was annually increased by 25% in the last two years. Housing issues are resolved as well. 29thousan sq m of housing were put into operation in 2010. It provided about 1500 military men with housing.
Drawing the results of the session President of the country, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Nursultan Nazarbayev said that the held discussion would contribute to realization of tasks set before the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.
