Head of State awarded Prize of Center for global dialogue and cooperation

The round table was attended by the UN Deputy Secretary Gyan Acharya, President of the Economic and Social Council Saydik Martin, Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations - Special Adviser of the United Nations Secretary General for Timor-Leste Noeleen Heyzer and the Secretary General of the UN Conference on Trade and Development Mukhisa Kitui . The Head of State thanked the UN representatives for the participation in the forum, and also noted that Kazakhstan actively supports the work of the organization in all directions. Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized that the day of the closure of the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site has been declared by the UN as the International Day against Nuclear Tests. Kazakh President also noted that our country has offered to form the UN regional hub in the city of Almaty. In turn, the UN Deputy Secretary Gyan Acharya conveyed wishes for success of the VII Astana Economic Forum from Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, and expressed gratitude for Kazakhstan's active support of ideas and initiatives of the UN system. After the meeting, the President attended the signing ceremony of the framework partnership agreements between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Islamic Development Bank. After the ceremony, the President of Kazakhstan was awarded the prize of the Center for global dialogue and cooperation 2013 for the contribution to strengthening of social business dialogue. The award was handed over to the President by the member of the European Parliament Mario David and the former Bulgarian President Peter Stoyanov.
