Head of KTZ and Siemens AG CEO meet in Astana

ASTANA. February 26. KAZINFORM Head of ?National Company ?Kazakhstan Temir Zholy? JSC (KTZ) Askar Mamin held a meeting with ?Siemens AG? CEO Peter Loscher on Wednesday. Within the meeting issues of cooperation in the vehicle sphere, in particular, a project on production of mainline electric locomotives in Kazakhstan; Kazinform refers to the KTZ?s press service.
During last year the KTZ and representatives of the German concern actively negotiated. An opportunity of cooperation in modernization, acquisition and development of production of electric motive power in Kazakhstan was discussed.
?Kazakhstan is one of the main countries in Central Asia on production development for our company. ?Siemens? is ready to provide with all necessary equipment for implementation of the planned project. Also we are ready to lend support in organization of production of electric locomotives in Kazakhstan. Besides, taking into account demand of the Kazakh railways in electric freight locomotives, we offer to consider participation of ?Siemens? in creation of a modern locomotive on your technical conditions?, Peter Loscher noted.
