Head of Atyrau penal system department dies in car crash

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Head of the regional penal system department of Atyrau region Nikolai Shemakin was killed in a road accident on Wednesday.
The accident occurred on the Atyrau-Uralsk highway not far from Atameken village at 17:30 p.m. According to police, Shemakin's driver lost control of the car. As a result of the car crash, the 48-year-old Shemakin died at the scene. The driver sustained severe injuries and was hospitalized.
