Hainan province ready to host Boao Forum for Asia

More than 10 heads of states of Asia and other regions were invited to the conference.

The theme of the session is "Asia seeking development for all: Restructuring, Responsibility and Cooperation."

President of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, as well as the heads of major corporations and media groups, representatives of the leading think tanks in China and foreign countries will attend the event.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will open the ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia with the welcome address.

Reception center for arriving participants of the annual forum is available at the international airport "Meilan" in the provincial capital of Hainan, Haikou City, which is 120 km north of Boao.

According to the organizers, about 1,200 employees of the armed police in China have been mobilized to ensure the safety of the arrangement. The personnel of the local police have moved to around the clock alert.

For security reasons,the local authorities closed the airspace for aircraft used in sports and other purposes from 5 to 9 April.

The Boao Forum for Asia was launched in 2001 as the platform to discuss important global and regional issues.
