Gross regional product of Astana comparable with the EU states - Tasmagambetov

ASTANA. October 14. KAZINFORM - Gross Regional Product (GRP) of Astana these days is comparable to the level of developed countries in the European Union, said the mayor of Astana Imangali Tasmagambetov.
"Since 1998 the gross regional product of Astana has increased from 711 million dollars to 18 billion dollars, amounting to 23 thousand dollars per person. This is comparable to the level of developed countries in the European Union", said the capital's mayor during the business forum named "Astana - St. Petersburg: strategic partnership and investment".
According to him, only in 2013 in the framework of the Customs Union (CU) the capital's foreign trade turnover has grown almost by $ 2 billion.
