Great Patriotic War veterans get KZT 50 thousand in Almaty rgn

TALDYKORGAN. KAZINFORM - On the eve of Victory Day Almaty region Akim Ansar Musakhanov has met with veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
The meeting was attended by 100 veterans, the oldest of whom was 103 years old. Each veteran was given KZT 50 thousand. "I heartily congratulate you on the coming holiday - Victory Day and the Day of Defender of the Fatherland! Victory day is of special pride and sacred memory for us. Your merits can not be overemphasized", said A.Musakhanov. In the Great Patriotic War against fascism fought over 120,000 citizens of Zhetisy, 50,000 of whom gave their lives on the battlefields, 52 citizens of Semirechye became Heroes of the Soviet Union. Today 471 Great Patriotic War veterans live in Almaty region.
