Grandiose Astana Botanical Garden to open on the eve of EXPO-2017 event

ASTANA. December 27. KAZINFORM A 97-hectare botanical garden will be established in the Kazakh capital. According to head of the public utilities department of Astana city Pavel Kulagin, the garden will be the main attraction for tourists from around the globe.
"Located along Kabanbai Batyr Avenue, the first stage of the project is under development. The corresponding design and budget documentation is in place. Kazakhstani-Italian design company is responsible for the development of this project. It is expected to be opened in 2017 on the threshold of the EXPO event in Astana," Mr. Kugalin noted.
The garden and surrounding park belt will house "Iran", "Spain", "Japan", "England", "France", "Italy", "China" and "Egypt" gardens with various plants, "South African desert", "Asian landscape" greenhouses, children's playgrounds, restaurants, parking lots, bicycle rentals, and artificial ponds.
A botanical institute will be opened on the territory of the garden as well.
