Governmental delegation led by 1st Vice PM Sklyar visits Kyzylorda region

A governmental delegation led by First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar arrived in Kyzylorda region for a working visit, Kazinform News Agency reports citing primeminister.kz.

The commission surveyed a number of key facilities in the region, including the new terminal of the Korkyt Ata International Airport in Kyzylorda launched last year. 16.6 billion tenge of private investment was spent on the construction of the terminal. Another 4.3 billion tenge was allocated from the local budget for building engineering and communications infrastructure.

Roman Sklyar and members of the delegation also got familiarized with the project of construction of the Complex for repair and maintenance of railroad cars and railroad car manufacturing plant in Kyzylorda. 15.4 billion tenge is envisaged for the project, which will be implemented in two stages. The projected capacity of the facility will help improve the repair and maintenance of railroad cars, as well as the production of new models.

The delegation also visited the construction site of a brick factory and surveyed a glass manufacturing enterprise. The brick factory will cover an area of 7 hectares in the territory of Ondiris Industrial Zone and is set to manufacture up to 90 million bricks per year.

The glass factory's capacity is 197,100 tons per year. The products are exported to Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The enterprise currently employs 366 people.

Roman Sklyar also checked the construction of a new thermal power plant in Kyzylorda. The cost of the project is 215 billion tenge, and its capacity is 240 MW. Turkish company Aksa Energy has invested more than 135 billion in the project. Upon its launch the new TPP is expected to fully provide the region with electricity.

Another issue which was in focus of the delegation is road infrastructure improvement. Roman Sklyar got acquainted with the reconstruction of the 25th Anniversary of Independence Avenue. The coastal structures along the Syrdarya River from Beibarys Street to Abulkhair Khan Street have been enhanced, and 6.7 kilometers of roads have been reconstructed.

The region plans to build 10 schools for 6,900 students under the Comfortable School program. Five schools have already been commissioned. The remaining five schools will be opened by the end of the year.

One more project being implemented in the region is a world-class stadium for 11 thousand spectators.20.9 billion tenge have been allocated from the regional budget for its construction.

Roman Sklyar also visited the new bus station  commissioned last year. The cost of the project is 975 million tenge.

The region is actively engaged in creation of small industrial zones, which will contribute to tackling unemployment problems and improvement of infrastructure for SMEs.

The region reports a 153.8% increase in construction sector in 2024. The volume of apartments commissioned has reached a record high – 866,800 square meters, with more than 2,500 families receiving keys to their new dwellings. 1,948 apartments were distributed to the families from vulnerable groups.
