Government approves Plan of Unified National Healthcare System

The document was presented by Minister of Healthcare Zhaksylyk Doskaliyev at the Governmental session.

According to Vice Prime Minister Yerbol Orynbayev, implementation of the UNHS will let each Kazakhstan citizen choose medical institution irrespectively to his place of residence. "For this purpose we jointly with the World Bank implement the information system project. All citizens will receive special cards within the project, thus everybody will be registered in the system", - he noted.

An expert group has been formed for this purpose in order to define the cost of treatment for each disease. These innovations will improve the level of medical institutions of the Republic.

Prime Minister Karim Massimov approved the plan. "This issue will receive further development. Whether this reform will let receive better treatment or not - the time will show. We must develop it gradually but promptly", - he said.
