Government adopts single-industries cities development program

ASTANA. May 21. KAZINFORM At today's Governmental session Minister of Economic Development and Trade Bakytzhan Sagintayev has stressed the main objective of the Single-Industry Cities Development Program is the development of social and economic component of the cities in the mid and long-term.
According to Minister Sagintayev, the program suggests multi-pronged approach and divides the cities into groups with high, average and low economic potential. 27 single-industry cities with 1.5 million residents have been chosen within the framework of the program.
These cities will be developed depending on the industrial capacity of local enterprises, differentiation of economy, SME development, workforce mobility and support of social and engineering infrastructure.
