GOVERNEMNT: Work on implementation of five institutional reforms began in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The composition of the Government did not change after the election of Nursultan Nazarbayev. Prime Minister Karim Massimov headed the national commission on implementation of five institutional reforms announced by the Head of State. The Government intends to cut the jobs with harmful working conditions.

The Government of Kazakhstan resigned last week due to assumption of the office by President by Nursultan Nazarbayev. By the Decree of the President, the Government was instructed to fulfill its duties until the new composition of the Government is approved.

According to the Article 44 of the Constitution of Kazakhstan, the President put forward a candidature of Karim Massimov for the post of the Prime Minister of the country on April 29.

"We are about to start a new program. We have to establish a commission that is going to be responsible for implementing of the new programs and reforms. I think we need the continuation in this work and therefore we need to remain the composition of the Government. K. Massimov knows his job, has a great potential and knowledge and we can continue to trust him to do his work," N. Nazarbayev said.

The Majilismen unanimously approved the candidature of K. Massimov for the post of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan. K. Massimov, in turn, expressed his gratitude for having confidence in him and promised that he would exert every effort to fulfill the set tasks. The Head of State signed the Decree on appointment Karim Massimov Prime Minister on the same day.

On Thursday, April 30, a sitting chaired by N. Nazarbayev and dedicated to establishment of the national commission on modernization was held. The Head of State noted the importance of continuing the work on implementation of the set tasks.

The commission is established in order to control implementation of five institutional reforms proposed by the President. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan will head the commission.

The Head of State noted that the composition of the Government would remain the same.

"Everybody was working exceptionally well. I do not see any need to change anything. Thus, there will be no changes in the composition of the Government," N. Nazarbayev said.

As Deputy Prime Minister Berdybek Saparbayev informed at the international conference on protection of labour in Astana, the Government plans to significantly cut the number of jobs with harmful working conditions. Presently, there are more than 690 thousand workers receive compensations for their working conditions. More than KZT 70 bln are allocated for these purposes annually. The second stage of the State Healthcare Program for 2016-2020 will help to resolve the problem.

Besides, the Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development of Kazakhstan jointly with social partners develop a complex plan on ensuring occupational health safety. Preventive measures for saving lives and health of workers will be developed within the plan.

As the Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development informed, as a result of the work on explanation of the benefits of the Employment Road Map-2020, 20 234 people expressed their willingness to become participants of the Employment-2020 Program and "Orleu" project.

The Government will allocate funds for repair of the roads and bridge destroyed by the spring flooding. The total damage is estimates to be at the level of about 2.6 billion tenge. In order to liquidate the consequences of the flooding, special regional headquarters headed by first deputy governors of the regions were established.

Heads of Sweden pharmaceutical companies "Astra Zeneca", "Diaverum", "Molnlycke" and "SCA" expressed their willingness to conduct long-term contracts with healthcare organizations of Kazakhstan at the meeting with Deputy Minister of Healthcare and Social Development Alexey Tsoi.
