Global number of swine flu cases reaches 1,124

MOSCOW. May 5. KAZINFORM The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Tuesday that the global caseload of H1N1 swine flu cases has reached 1,124, with a death toll of 25; Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.
"As of 06:00 GMT, 5 May 2009, 21 countries have officially reported 1,124 cases of influenza A (H1N1) infection," the WHO said on its website.
Mexican President Felipe Calderon, whose country has reported 590 laboratory-confirmed human cases, said in a televised address that the spread of the virus is under control; Kazinform cites RIA Novosti.
