German business delegation visited Karaganda oblast
The members of the delegation met with the heads of Karaganda enterprises at the Regional Commerce and Industry Chamber and Kazakhstan Association of the Entrepreneurs. The visit aims at establishment of mutually beneficial business contacts and expansion of trade and economic ties. The visit is organized under the support of the Ministry of Economy of the North Rhine-Westphalia within a program on entrepreneurship development.
Heads of the companies searching for partners in Kazakhstan as well as representatives of the Commerce and Industry Chamber, Foreign Trade Union of the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia and associations of the enterprises cooperating with the Eastern European countries are among the members of the delegation.
The German side expressed interest in chemical and wood-processing industry, pharmacy, printing industry, transport and logistics and business consulting.
"We hope the visit will be fruitful for enhancing business activity of Germany in Kazakhstan", head of the delegation, Chairman of Koln Commerce and Industry Chamber Christoph Hanke said. "Karaganda oblast is attractive for us since it plays a key role in the country's metallurgical and other spheres".
Yerbulat Kargin, head of the regional department for entrepreneurship and industry development, told about the region's economy and further plans of industrialization. Karaganda oblast has close contacts with more than 100 countries of the world and exports its products to 68 countries, he noted. Over 400 joint enterprises are functioning in the oblast including 49 ones with the participation of the German capital. Since the year beginning foreign trade turnover of Karaganda oblast with Germany has made about USD 90 mln, including USD 83 mln of import.
The day before the German delegation visited capital city of Kazakhstan Astana. On September 24 Almaty will hold a contact-cooperation stock exchange with the participation of German and Kazakh enterprises. The 11th Day of German Economy in Kazakhstan will take place as well.
