Gennady Golovkin: I will do my best to keep boxing in Olympics-2028 program
President of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gennady Golovkin and the Chair of the World Boxing Federation’s Olympic Committee, met with U19 World Boxing Championship participants in Pueblo (USA), Kazinform News Agency learned from the NOC press service.

Gennady Golovkin welcomed the teams participating in the World Boxing Championship in an informal setting and took the opportunity to take photographs with the young boxers.
In his address to the athletes, the NOC President emphasized that the preservation of boxing in the 2028 Olympic Games program is a top priority.
“I am confident that many of you will become future champions and Olympians, participating in the LA Games. I pledge to do my utmost to ensure that boxing remains part of the Olympic competition program. Pursue excellence and strive to achieve your goals. I wish everyone the best of luck and success at the World Championships," Gennady Golovkin said.
It bears to remind that Team Kazakhstan will participate at the tournament, organized by the International Boxing Federation (IBF) for the first time. A total of 180 athletes from 30 countries are set to compete at the World Boxing Championships. Four Kazakh boxers will represent the country at the event.
Earlier it was reported that Gennady Golovkin had paid a working visit to the Organizing Committee of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles (USA). The sides discussed a number of important issues such as Olympic infrastructure and conditions for the athletes competing in the LA Games, as well as the opportunities for cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United States in sports.
