Gas turbine power plant and wind farm to operate in Aktobe rgn

ASTANA. November 8. KAZINFORM - In 2014 Aktobe region will put into operation a gas turbine power plant with capacity of 160 megawatts and a wind farm of 96 megawatts. This has been announced by Mayor of Aktobe region Arkhimed Mukhambetov at the briefing of the central communications service of the President of Kazakhstan in "Kazmediacenter".
"The region has been implementing a major project - the construction of the second and third stage of the third gas processing plant with a capacity of 6 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The project will provide with gas the southern regions and some areas of the country. Also, there is a project of building a gas turbine power plant with a capacity of 160 megawatts, which will ensure the economy of the region with own energy sources", said Mr.Muhambetov.
According to Mr.Muhambetov, to execute orders of the President on development of "green" economy there is a project to build a wind farm with a capacity of up to 96 megawatts. The total project cost is 200 million U.S. dollars.
