CAIRO. October 25. KAZINFORM Muammar Gaddafi was buried at dawn on Tuesday, and the whereabouts of his grave are not known, Al Jazeera TV channel reported on Tuesday with reference to a source in the Transitional National Council (TNC) of Libya; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
On Monday TNC representatives promised that a Muslim priest would be present during the burial of Gaddafi's body. The dead body of Gaddafi's son Moatasem and that of Gaddafi himself were planned to be buried together.
Most probably, TNC decided to keep secret the place, where Muammar Gaddafi is buried, in order to prevent the turning of the grave of the overthrown leader into a place of pilgrimage for his supporters.
Gaddafi was killed in Sirt, his native city, on October 20; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
