ASTANA. KAZINFORM - A French appeals court has rejected the appeal of fugitive Kazakh banker Mukhtar Ablyazov and he will be extradited to Russia or Ukraine, RBK reports.
Former head of BTA Bank Ablyazov will be extradited to one of the two countries seeking his extradition on embezzlement charges. His extradition is also sought by his native Kazakhstan, but it does not have an extradition agreement with France. Recall that Kazakhstani law-enforcement agencies accused the ex-banker of embezzling over $6 billion. Ablyazov was detained in July 2013 near Cannes.
