Freezing weather kills over 200 in Poland

WARSAW. January 27. KAZINFORM. Over 200 persons have died so far this winter due to freezing weather, according to data provided by the Government Security Centre on Tuesday; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

Night-time temperatures in some parts of Poland have dropped to minus 30 degrees Centigrade. For some time now day time temperatures range between minus 10 and minus 18 degrees Centigrade.

The Centre appealed for greater care for older persons, people living in unheated homes or those found sleeping at bus stops or in parks as well as for the homeless.

Since the start of December, 202 people have frozen to death, including ten people in the last 24 hours; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
