France ranks 4th among Kazakhstan's foreign trade partners - Economy Minister

ASTANA. February 8. KAZINFORM. /Damir Baimanov/ Last year France took the 4th place among foreign trade partners of Kazakhstan after China, Russia and Italy. Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Bakhyt Sultanov has made it public at the sitting of Kazakh-French Business Council today.

"France ranks 2^nd among the European and 4^th among foreign trade partners of Kazakhstan after China, Russia and Italy. According to the data, the volume of Kazakh-French commodity circulation made USD 3.8 billion in 2009", the Minister said.

He noted that France was the first EU country to sign with Kazakhstan the document that promotes the development of the international legal framework for future bilateral projects aimed at developing economic relations.

"France is one of the largest investors. The volume of investments to Kazakh economy made about USD 5.5 billion during the period from 1993 to 2009", B. Sultanov emphasized. He also added that bilateral cooperation successfully developed in various spheres of economy including energy, transport and space industry.
