Bayrou, leader of the centrist MoDem party, is the new French Prime Minister, Agenzia Nova reports.

The Elysée announced it with a press release. Bayrou thus succeeds Michael Barnier, ousted more than a week ago by the Rassemblement National and the left in a vote of no confidence in the National Assembly.
As reported previously, a delegation of Kazakhstan led by Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliyev paid a working visit to the French Republic.
