France backs idea to hold OSCE Summit in Astana - Bernard Kouchner

Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Bernard Kouchner has announced it at the meeting with OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Kazakh Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kanat Saudabayev in Almaty on Friday, July 16.

The meeting was held within the framework of the informal meeting of the OSCE foreign ministers.

K.Saudabayev expressed special gratitude to the French Foreign Minister for support of our country's chairmanship in the OSCE, especially in implementation of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev's on holding the OSCE Summit this year.

"I hope we will reach a consensus on holding the Summit in Kazakhstan", K.Saudabayev said.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Bernard Kouchner emphasized: "We back the idea of holding the OSCE Summit in Astana and tomorrow we will define its date".
