Former Governor of Almaty region Anssar Mussakhanov passed away
Prominent statesman, former Governor of Almaty region and ex-senator Anssar Mussakhanov has passed away at the age of 59, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the regional administration.

Born on July 31, 1966 in Almaty region, Anssar Mussakhanov is a graduate of the Almaty Institute of Veterinary and Kazakh National Agrarian University.
He began his career in agricultural sector, holding later senior positions in the public administration agencies of Almaty region.
From 2005 to 2009, he was the governor of Ili, Zhambyl and Karassai districts of Almaty region.
From 2009 to 2010, he was the state inspector at the President’s Executive Office.
In 2011-2014, Anssar Mussakhanov was the governor of Almaty region.
From 2014 to 2020, he was the senator of the Kazakh Parliament.
