Foreign Ministers of G7 member states held session on Afghanistan in Italy

ASTANA. June 27. KAZINFORM "Afghanistan and regional dimension" session with participation of Foreign Ministers of G8 member states, the NATO Coalition's participants in Afghanistan, Central Asian countries and Afghanistan neighbor countries was held in Trieste (Italy) on June 26-27, 2009 within the Italian G8 chairmanship, Kazinform refers to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry. The Kazakh delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Nurlan Yermekbayev.
The kazakh Diplomat in his speech noted that Kazakhstan takes active part in reconstruction of Afghanistan and struggle against drugs trafficking. He briefed the participants on the activity of the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre (CARICC) on struggle against drugs in Almaty and stressed the role that the SCO and the OSCE ca play in the international efforts on assistance to Afghanistan.
N.Yermekbayev emphasized the expedience of realization of regional cross-border and infrastructural projects as well.
Kazakh Ambassador to Italy Almaz Khamzayev took part in the session as well.
