Foreign mercenary eliminated in Tajikistan
The truck convoy came under fire near the impassable Kamarob gorge (260 kilometers away from Dushanbe). Twenty-five soldiers and officers were killed, three more later died of wounds and more than ten are still staying in hospital. Schemes for holding future terrorist acts, instructions for the production of explosives and a submachine-gun were found with the dead militant whose nationality is kept secret. An operation to neutralize illegal armed groups continues in Tajikistan. Some of the militants have been destroyed; some have been taken prisoner, while the chieftain and his associates have managed to escape in the mountains.
The Tajik security services have accused groups of the former field commanders Mirzokhudzhu Akhmadov, Abdullo Rakhimov and Alovudin Davlatov of attacking the truck convoy; Kazinform cites ITAR-TASS.
